There's no place like home for the Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Madeira 59-20 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-8.
Mercersburg Academy found their leader in underclassman Annie Mohr, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mohr has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Goodhart, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mercersburg Academy pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Madeira, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercersburg Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blair Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 14th. Blair Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Madeira will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Georgetown Day at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
