Geibel Catholic and Jefferson-Morgan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Geibel Catholic Gators will head out on the road to take on the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geibel Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Jefferson-Morgan will be coming in after a loss.
Geibel Catholic can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 63-37 margin over Avella. The win made it back-to-back wins for Geibel Catholic.
Geibel Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Larkin out in front who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which Larkin has scored at least a third of Geibel Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Henderson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Jefferson-Morgan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Greene.
Geibel Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Geibel Catholic beat Jefferson-Morgan 55-48 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Geibel Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
