The Bellefonte Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Clearfield at home and fell 78-51. Bellefonte has struggled against Clearfield recently, as their match on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Clearfield found their leader in underclassman Sonny Diehl, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diehl has scored all season. Mia Helsel was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Bellefonte's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Clearfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Bellefonte will head out on the road to challenge Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bellefonte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Central is ranked 284th). As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Clearfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
