If the Central Cambria Red Devils were feeling good off their 54-32 takedown of the Bedford Bisons last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Central Cambria took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellwood-Antis. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bellwood-Antis found their leader in underclassman Lilly Gerwert, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Gerwert hasn't dropped below two blocks for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Marissa Cacciotti, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Central Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Bellwood-Antis, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Central Cambria will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Richland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will head out on the road to square off against Huntingdon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bellwood-Antis is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
