St. Mary and the Renegades are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The St. Mary's Cardinals are on the road again on Monday and plays the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. St. Mary's will be strutting in after a win while the Renegades will be coming in after a defeat.
On Saturday, St. Mary's beat the Wolfpack 56-43.
St. Mary's can attribute much of their success to Lorissa Reiman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Alissa Brabec, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Reiman hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for seven straight games. Annabelle Barlow was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Chambers/Wheeler Central lost to the Broncos on the road by a decisive 52-34 margin last Saturday.
The losing side was boosted by Annabel Waldo, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ella Moses, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
St. Mary's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: St. Mary's hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.7 points per game. It's a different story for Chambers/Wheeler Central, though, as they've been averaging only 33.2 points per game. The only thing between St. Mary's and another offensive beatdown is the Renegades. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for St. Mary's against the Renegades when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-30 victory. With St. Mary's ahead 38-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
