Northwest Area is 8-2 against Hanover Area since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Northwest Area Rangers will be home for the holidays to greet the Hanover Area Hawkeyes at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Northwest Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Northwest Area scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Columbia Montour Vo-Tech 70-24 on the road. That looming 70-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Northwest Area yet this season.
Northwest Area got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karsyn Miner out in front who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Miner has scored at least 25% of Northwest Area's points. Another player making a difference was Jordin Bowman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hanover Area couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Mid Valley on Monday, falling 74-12.
Northwest Area now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hanover Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything came up roses for Northwest Area against Hanover Area in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 67-20 victory. Does Northwest Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hanover Area turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
