Kewaunee hasn't had much luck against Coleman recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Storm will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Kewaunee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Kewaunee's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Bonduel's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Storm walked away with an 11-6 win over the Bears.
Jackson Walecka tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Micah Vanness was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Temme, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Coleman and Crivitz have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1.
Gavin Pusick put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pusick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chadd Gruber, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Kewaunee's victory bumped their record up to 20-0. As for Coleman, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kewaunee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Coleman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
