The Coast Union Broncos had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 18-17 photo finish over Shandon. The win was just what Coast Union needed coming off of a 51-5 loss in their prior contest.
When it comes to explaining why Shandon lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Yelene Segura. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points.
Coast Union's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Shandon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coast Union will challenge Valley Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Christian Academy and Coast Union are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Shandon, they will head out on the road to take on Maricopa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maricopa comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
