The Granite Hills Eagles kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were the victim of a rough 61-39 loss at the hands of Olympian.
Despite the loss, Granite Hills still got an impressive performance from Kerstena Tomika, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaley Kaesser, who scored 7 points.
Asia Darcuiel was on fire for Olympian: she scored 32 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Darcuiel has scored at least 25% of Olympian's points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Agpaoa, who scored 14 points.
Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Olympian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Granite Hills won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. As for Olympian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Grossmont is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game.
