Baseball Recap: Paramount Has No Trouble Against Dominguez

Paramount won the last time they faced Dominguez and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Paramount Pirates' way against the Dominguez Dons as the Paramount Pirates made off with a 9-1 win. The matchup marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Diego Padilla was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Padilla was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Raymundo Banuelos looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Back at the plate, Paramount got a big performance out of Jacob Lara, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Nicholas Medina also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Paramount hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dominguez struck out 11 times.

The win made it two in a row for Paramount and bumps their season record up to 3-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 4.2 in the others. As for Dominguez, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2-1 record.

Looking ahead, Paramount will square off against Norwalk at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paramount is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Dominguez, they will face off against Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
