The third road  game was the charm for Aptos, as they earned their first away  victory of the season. They walked away with  a   6-1  win over the Menlo School Knights  on Saturday. The Mariners have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.
 Jason Yager and  Cole McGillicuddy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Yager   didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile,  McGillicuddy   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. The dominant performance also gave  Yager a new career-low in  earned runs (zero). At bat,  Yager  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  RBI, while  McGillicuddy  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  In other batting news,  Dom Castillo was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.  Nate Garcia was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI.

Aptos' first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Menlo School,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 2-5.
