After two games on the road, Serra is heading back home. They will take on the Mary Star of the Sea Stars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Serra came up short against St. Monica and fell 58-48. While losing is never fun, Serra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 810th, while St. Monica is ranked 238th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jadah Foster, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Kaicia Snelson, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Mary Star of the Sea's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 65-40 loss to Bishop Conaty-Loretto might stick with them for a while.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Serra's defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
