The Downey Knights will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Ceres Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Downey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Downey, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-22 loss to Ripon. Downey has not had much luck with Ripon recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Downey saw an underclassman step up: Nathalia Soto, scored 8 points along with 3 steals. Soto, hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Ceres didn't have too much trouble with Venture Academy on the road on Tuesday as they won 54-38.
Downey's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ceres, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Downey skirted past Ceres 41-38 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Does Downey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ceres turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
