Don Lugo has gone a perfect 3-0 against Diamond Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Conquistadores are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Don Lugo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Don Lugo had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Jurupa Valley on Monday. The Conquistadores were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Jaguars.
Don Lugo got a great performance from Julian Perezchica as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Perezchica has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Austin Brown was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasim Malik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Don Lugo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jurupa Valley only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Diamond Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Chaffey 1-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Not much got past Ethan Lomeli, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Chaffey off the board. Diamond Ranch is undefeated when Lomeli posts eight or more strikeouts, but 1-13 otherwise.
At the plate, Diamond Ranch's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Aparicio, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Don Lugo is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Diamond Ranch, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 4-13.
Don Lugo's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Conquistadores have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Diamond Ranch, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Don Lugo continue to outrun the ball?
Don Lugo took their win against Diamond Ranch when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Conquistadores since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
