The Franklin Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Corry Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Franklin's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Corry has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Monday, Franklin didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Oil City, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory.
Franklin relied on the efforts of Jennifer Blum, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Katie Boal, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Boal is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sydney Stevens was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Corry suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They were dealt a 67-24 defeat at the hands of Erie. While losing is never fun, Corry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Erie is ranked 109th).
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Corry, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Franklin strolled past Corry when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 29-13. Will Franklin repeat their success, or does Corry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
