Barrack Hebrew Academy has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Academy of the New Church Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Barrack Hebrew Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Academy of the New Church is ranked 140th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-21, which was the final score in Barrack Hebrew Academy's tilt against Hill School on Thursday. Barrack Hebrew Academy has not had much luck with Hill School recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Academy of the New Church came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 60-28 win over Peddie at home. Academy of the New Church has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
Barrack Hebrew Academy's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Academy of the New Church, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Barrack Hebrew Academy strolled past Academy of the New Church when the teams last played back in December of 2019 by a score of 44-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barrack Hebrew Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
