The Marathon Dolphins can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Archimedean. With that victory, Marathon brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Marathon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was ADRIAN CRUZ out in front who scored 27 points along with four steals. CRUZ hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. YANIEL GARCIA was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Marathon's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Archimedean, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Marathon will finish 2023 at home by hosting Whitman-Hanson Regional at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th. Archimedean will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on BridgePrep Village Green at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. BridgePrep Village Green is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
