Nick Rooney and Mitch Felknor provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wayzata. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in Lake this season.
Eden Prairie extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hopkins, 37-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Rooney was a passing and rushing force as Minnetonka fell to the Trojans. He completed 16 passes for 211 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 19 yards. Rooney's key target this week was Felknor, who caught 6 passes for 124 yards.
Ryan Connelly threw for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Anthony Anderson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 154 yards on 9 carries as Eden Prairie lost to Wayzata. Belal Omar also contributed to the rushing game with 63 yards on the ground.
Minnetonka's Rooney and Felknor led Lake in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Rooney has thrown for 1,766 yards this season, while Felknor has 51 catches for 763 yards. Anderson from Mike Grant's team leads the league in rushing with 869 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Edina and Dave Nelson's team. The Hornets comes into the matchup ranked 13th in the state, while the Skippers ranks sixth.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Minnetonka's Felknor goes up against Edina's Kyle Fowlkes.
