The Grand Junction Tigers will take on the Heritage Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Grand Junction is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Grand Junction came out on top against Niwot on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kloe Donahue made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alysa Lorimor, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jacquelyn Boyd, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Grand Junction was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Heritage came up short against Palisade on Friday and fell 7-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Caitlin Chamaty made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Grand Junction's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grand Junction hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grand Junction couldn't quite finish off Heritage in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
