Softball Recap: Macarthur Extends Winning Streak to Six

MacArthur entered their tilt with Aldine on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 18-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Mullikin looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Amanda Morales was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Chacon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

MacArthur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aldine only posted an OBP of .368.

MacArthur's record is now 18-11. As for Aldine, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. MacArthur will face off against Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season. As for Aldine, they will take on Westfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aldine is facing Westfield at the right time seeing as Westfield is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
