Windsor Academy has struggled against Twiggs Academy recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Windsor Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kyndall Bowen scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 57.9% of Windsor Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Savannah Roberts was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Windsor Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Twiggs Academy to victory were Megan Favors and Raigan Gilbert. Favors scored ten points along with seven assists and four steals, while Gilbert dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Favors is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Lavender, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Windsor Academy bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.9 points per game. As for Twiggs Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor Academy will square off against Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Fellowship Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Windsor Academy in Georgia (Central Fellowship Christian Academy is ranked 127th, while Windsor Academy is ranked 495th). As for Twiggs Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
