On Saturday, Norte Vista made easy work of Western Christian and carried off a 42-22 victory.
Despite the defeat, Western Christian saw an underclassman step up: CeCe Balderrama dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Balderrama scored a full 54.5% of Western Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Norte Vista's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Western Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norte Vista will take on Linfield Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Loma Linda Academy at 6:00 p.m.
