After flying high against the Bethel Christian Kings on Thursday, the Escondido Adventist Academy Hawks came back down to earth. Escondido Adventist Academy took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grand Terrace on Friday.
Jayleen Barajas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grand Terrace, scoring 29 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The contest was Barajas' 18th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mikhia Anderson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Escondido Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Grand Terrace, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escondido Adventist Academy will take on Coastal Academy at TBD on Tuesday. Hopefully Coastal Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for Grand Terrace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Gorgonio at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Gorgonio has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
