The Washington Huskies suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 77-39 loss at the hands of Moreau Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Washington has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Washington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordyn Yamaguchi. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of April Zelinski, who scored four points.
Moreau Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madeline Bader led the charge by scoring 24 points along with eight assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bader has scored all season. Elisa Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds.
Washington has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Moreau Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will take on American at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moreau Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. Kennedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1038th, while Moreau Catholic is ranked 206th).
