Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Monache

If Redwood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Monache, they should've done a better job of containing Milly Rojas. The Monache Marauders claimed a resounding 63-23 win over the Redwood Rangers thanks in part to Rojas, who went 10 for 19 on her way to 27 points along with five boards and three steals. Her evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kyah Bartlett, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Redwood's loss on Wednesday came despite strong showings from Jazmaine Stewart and Zoe Alvarado. Stewart earned ten points, while Alvarado scored a point.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Monache, bringing their record for this year to 17-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Redwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Monache didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-23 win against Mt. Whitney on the 31st. Redwood has also already played their next match, a 54-18 victory against Golden West on the 31st.
