The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Plumas Charter has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Loyalton will arrive with seven straight wins.
On Tuesday, Plumas Charter lost to Princeton on the road by a decisive 30-15 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Plumas Charter has scored all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Loyalton gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Paradise Adventist Academy, posting a 63-23 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Loyalton has posted since December 5, 2023.
Loyalton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Holland, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Holland has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Petterson, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Plumas Charter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Loyalton, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
