The Taft Wildcats had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 50-37 victory over Foothill on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Taft also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Taft was led to victory by Chase Phillips and Blaine Neudorf. Phillips scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks, while Neudorf dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Ernie Laulu was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 9 rebounds.
Taft's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Foothill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Taft will head out on the road to face off against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stockdale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Taft in California (Stockdale is ranked 389th, while Taft is ranked 811th). As for Foothill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Justin Garza at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
