Stuart W. Cramer had won three straight games and Clee Phillips did his part to make it four on Friday. The Storm were the clear victors by a 30-7 margin over the East Gaston Warriors with plenty of help from Phillips, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 130 yards on nine of 13 attempts. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stuart W. Cramer's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Brayden Fortenberry was the leader with two.
Despite the loss, East Gaston saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mari Chambers rushed for 88 yards and one score on only 12 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 69 yards.
