Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carmel). They put the hurt on the Stevenson Pirates with a sharp 19-4 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Padres in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won five in a row.

Matt Maxon was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Sean Carr was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Carmel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevenson only posted a batting average of .273.

Carmel's record now sits at 15-7. As for Stevenson, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Carmel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-3 victory against Soledad on the 6th. As for Stevenson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-4 win against Rancho San Juan on the 7th.
