The Exeter Monarchs will be playing at home against the Granite Hills Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Exeter narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Parlier 31-29. The win made it back-to-back wins for Exeter.
Exeter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Dias, who scored 7 points along with 11 steals. Dias has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Venegas, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Delano on Monday, taking the game 37-30. The victory was just what Granite Hills needed coming off of a 37-16 defeat in their prior contest.
The victory got Exeter back to even at 3-3. As for Granite Hills, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Exeter against Granite Hills when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 42-4 win. Will Exeter repeat their success, or does Granite Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
