The Sierra Timberwolves lost against the East Union Lancers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sierra fell 42-31 to East Union. While losing is never fun, Sierra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while East Union is ranked 140th).
When it comes to explaining why Sierra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emma Gilmore. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Everett, who scored four points along with six blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Sierra and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for East Union, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Oakdale is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for East Union, they will head out on the road to face off against Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
