It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Design Tech had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars 56-30. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Design Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jewel Wilson out in front who went 8-for-19 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds. The game was Wilson's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson 'Emi' LaPedis, who posted 15 points and six boards.
The win (which was Design Tech's third in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.
Coming up, Design Tech won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sacred Heart Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Lorenzo Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
