Softball Recap: Citizens Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Vidalia Heritage Academy

Citizens Christian Academy had won seven straight at home, but on Monday they bumped up to 15-3 to make it eight. Everything went their way against the Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles as they made off with a 20-0 win. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gracie Giddens was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Emma Gourley was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Brilynn Waldron was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Citizens Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vidalia Heritage Academy only managed four hits.

As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Citizens Christian Academy: they've now lost six in a row.

On Vidalia Heritage Academy's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Grace Todd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Citizens Christian Academy will challenge Wayne County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, they will face off against Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
