Katella has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Segerstrom Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Katella ended up a good deal behind Godinez Fundamental and lost 58-41. Katella has not had much luck with Godinez Fundamental recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Segerstrom waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 47-30 win over Westminster. Given Segerstrom's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Westminster is ranked 1123rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Katella's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Segerstrom, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Katella came up short against Segerstrom when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 49-36. Can Katella avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
