After a string of eight wins, the Hart Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hart lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Morgan Mack, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Mack's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Arleigh Eav was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Avary Cain continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Joseph, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cain has scored at least 25% of St. Joseph's points. Another player making a difference was Maava Sat, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Hart's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for St. Joseph, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Hart will head out on the road to face off against Knight at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph will take on St. Anthony in a holiday battle at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at. St. Anthony knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully St. Joseph likes a good challenge.
