Greenfield-Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chaney Brown, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. What's more, Brown also racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Mcconnell, who posted ten points along with six steals and five boards.
Greenfield-Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, New Castle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern Hancock. Despite the loss, New Castle saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carlee Lanzer went 5 for 11 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Arthur, who put up 12 points.
Greenfield-Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for New Castle, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Greenfield-Central against New Castle when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-33 victory. In that game, Greenfield-Central amassed a halftime lead of 39-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
