El Dorado extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 12-11. They lost 12-5 to the Bradshaw Christian Pride. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since March 20th.
Joe Parsons was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Parsons was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Rylan Phillips was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Bradshaw Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.
Like El Dorado, Bradshaw Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Quach. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Quach posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Timmy Maung was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten matchups. Evan Fujii-Sisler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Looking ahead, El Dorado will square off against Wheatland at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Bradshaw Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Sutter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
