McCutcheon has won three straight games at home, while Northwestern has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Mavericks will welcome the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, McCutcheon put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They lost 25-18 to Brownsburg. The Mavericks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Northwestern got the win against Maconaquah on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kade Dill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Northwestern got a massive performance out of Jaxson Trueblood, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Trueblood has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was William Rees, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Northwestern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maconaquah only posted an OBP of .263.
McCutcheon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.
Everything went McCutcheon's way against Northwestern when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as McCutcheon made off with a 14-6 victory. Do the Mavericks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
