The Reed-Custer Comets's five-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Wilmington 45-22. For Reed-Custer, this counts as revenge for the 44-34 defeat Wilmington walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Leading Reed-Custer to victory were Kaylee Tribble and Gwen Stewart. Tribble dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Stewart scored nine points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tribble has scored at least 25% of Reed-Custer's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Grace, who scored five points.
Reed-Custer's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for Wilmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Reed-Custer and Streator will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Streator is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Wilmington, they will head out on the road to face off against Beecher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beecher will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
