The Washington Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Louisville Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Washington came up short against McKinley and fell 84-74. Washington has struggled against McKinley recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Washington saw an underclassman step up: Jadyce Thigpen scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Thigpen also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Chris Knight, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Even though Louisville has not done well against McKinley recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Louisville snuck past McKinley with a 71-67 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Louisville.
Washington has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Louisville, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Washington came up short against Louisville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 72-66.
