Willits waltzed into their game  on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with  a   43-36  win over the Etna Lions. While the Wolverines didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willits to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Lyly Herman, who  posted 12  points and six  steals. With that strong performance,  Herman is now averaging an impressive 2.3  steals per game.  Jazmarie Henson was another key player,  putting up 13 points and six  steals.
 Willits  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 12  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least ten  offensive rebounds in three consecutive  matchups.
Willits' record is now 8-2. As for Etna, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Willits will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Calistoga at 6:30  p.m.  on January 7, 2025. Willits' defense has only allowed 28.6  points per game  this season, so Calistoga's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Etna, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  36-18  win against Rogue River on the 27th.
