Piedra Vista's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cibola Cougars as they made off with  a  28-7 win. That looming  28-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this  season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedra Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Amasi Griego, who rushed for 88 yards and one  score, and also threw for 86 yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Griego was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.  AJ Cockrell was in the mix  as well, providing Piedra Vista with two TDs.
 Piedra Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Cockrell.
With the  victory, Piedra Vista broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Cibola, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Piedra Vista will  square off against  rival Farmington  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Cibola is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Volcano Vista  at 3:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
