The Paso Robles Bearcats won the last time they faced the Santa Maria Saints, and things went their way on Friday too. Paso Robles came out on top against Santa Maria by a score of 66-53.
Paso Robles' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kate Harrington, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Nevaeh Dyer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Vasquez, who scored 16 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vasquez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Reyes, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two steals.
Paso Robles is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Santa Maria, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
Paso Robles will take on San Luis Obispo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Santa Maria, they will head out on the road to square off against Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cabrillo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
