Jeremiah McGeachy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Stockbridge: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brycen Norman-Jimil, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.
Stockbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Woodland lost 12-3 to Stockbridge on Friday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.
Woodland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Washington, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Washington hit this season.
Stockbridge pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stockbridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Woodland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Stockbridge's way against Woodland in their previous matchup on Friday, as Stockbridge made off with a 12-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stockbridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
