The International School of Los Angeles Lions's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They skirted past Southwestern Academy 21-19. The win was just what International School of Los Angeles needed coming off of a 46-22 defeat in their prior matchup.
Several Sun players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Valza Jusufi, who scored five points along with 22 rebounds and three steals. Jusufi has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Marifer Durand was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
International School of Los Angeles' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4. As for Southwestern Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
International School of Los Angeles will head out on the road to challenge Mesrobian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mesrobian's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so International School of Los Angeles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Southwestern Academy, they will be playing at home against Sequoyah School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sequoyah School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
