The Notre Dame Tigers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Notre Dame Regents at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for the Tigers and three for the Regents.
Last Tuesday, the Tigers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Knights are ranked 180th).
Despite the loss, the Tigers had strong showings from Sammy Kakala, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Juila Oliveira-Killmon, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Vivana Martinez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-30, which was the final score in the Regents' tilt against the Panthers on Monday.
The Tigers' loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for the Regents, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
The Tigers came up short against the Regents in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-45. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
