Rio Hondo Prep had won two straight games and TARA RILEY did her part to make it three on Monday. The Kares came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 35-31 W against the Rancho Verde Mustangs with plenty of help from RILEY, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 24 points along with six boards and six steals. RILEY is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Rio Hondo Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rancho Verde, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Rio Hondo Prep will challenge Covina at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rancho Verde, they and Grand Terrace will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
