The Fairfield Eagles will head out to take on the Diboll Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Diboll likes a good challenge.
Fairfield is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Huntington: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Red Devils out of the water with a 52-0 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Red Devils are ranked 1049th).

Kohl Collins produced another solid effort throwing for 256 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 39 yards. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Khamrion Ingram was in the mix too, providing Fairfield with two TDs.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Fairfield, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Finn Smith, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Diboll didn't have quite enough to beat Westwood on Friday and fell 38-35.
Even if they lost, Diboll's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Eli Terrell, Joseph Parish, and Kevi Davis-Dill, who each picked up one sack apiece. Diboll received some extra help from Erin Robbins, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Fairfield pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Diboll, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Fairfield suffered a grim 34-14 defeat to Diboll in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
