Liberty County is 0-6 against Calvary Day since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Liberty County Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Calvary Day Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. Liberty County is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Liberty County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against First Preparatory Christian Academy as Liberty County made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Caden Chancey made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Liberty County let Landon Usher and Glemon English run wild. Usher went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double, while English went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. English is becoming a predictor of Liberty County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Bryce Coley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Liberty County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Calvary Day's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Wayne County on Monday. Calvary Day came out on top against Southeast Bulloch by a score of 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won four in a row.
Cutter Powell was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carter Hampton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Liberty County pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calvary Day, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Calvary Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty County might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Calvary Day in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Liberty County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
