The Woodcrest Christian Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 80-22 loss at the hands of Aquinas. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Woodcrest Christian has scored all season.
Leading Aquinas to victory were Madeleine Barker and Madeleine De Kodia. Barker scored 19 points along with five rebounds, while De Kodia dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals. De Kodia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Perrine Allou, who scored 11 points.
Woodcrest Christian's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Aquinas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Woodcrest Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arrowhead Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Aquinas and Elsinore will round out the year against one another at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at.
